- RESPONSIBLE ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
When reuse ends, responsibility begins.
Not every device has another owner waiting for it. When technology has genuinely reached the end
of its usable life, NextLife helps move it into an environmentally responsible recycling process
through qualified downstream partners.
- RESPONSIBLE ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
- RECYCLING PHILOSOPHY
Recycling should be the right destination—not the automatic one
We first look for opportunities to reuse the equipment, recover value, remarket complete units, or
preserve useful components.
Only when those paths are no longer practical does recycling become the appropriate next life
For NextLife, recycling does not begin with the assumption that every retired device should be
broken down immediately.
That distinction matters.
Because keeping functioning technology in use longer is often more meaningful than prematurely
turning it back into raw material.
- RESPONSIBLE PROCESSING
What cannot be reused still needs to be handled correctly.
End-of-life electronics contain a combination of metals, plastics, circuit boards, batteries, wiring, and
other materials that should not simply move into ordinary waste streams.
NextLife sorts and processes equipment before routing appropriate material through downstream
partners for environmentally responsible recycling
The result is a disposition process designed to make the most appropriate use of the asset all the
way through its final stage
- MEDIA / CONTROLLED
- ACCEPTED EQUIPMENT
From office technology to infrastructure.
NextLife works with a broad range of powered electronics, including laptops, desktops, tablets,
smartphones, printers, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, POS systems, telecommunications
hardware, cables, wire, and related equipment.
Projects can range from accumulated office equipment to truckloads of retired technology resulting
from larger refreshes and decommissioning programs.
- WHAT WE PROCESS
- Laptops & desktops
- Tablets & smartphones
- Printers & POS systems
- Servers & switches
- Routers & firewalls
- Telecom hardware, cables & wire
Certain hazardous materials and specialty equipment fall outside the company’s standard
acceptance criteria, so unusual inventories should be reviewed with the team before collection.
- SCHOOL DISTRICT CASE STUDY
Three truckloads. Five years of accumulated equipment.
A Texas public school district had accumulated retired IT equipment for approximately five years
Over a two-year period, the district received proposals from several recyclers and ITAD providers, all
of which would have required the school system to pay significant removal and processing costs.
NextLife developed a different solution and completed the removal of three full truckloads at no cost
to the district—even after additional, previously unlisted CRT monitors were discovered during the
project.
It is a useful reminder that responsible recycling and practical economics do not always have to work against each other.
The final stage still deserves a good outcome.
When that happens, NextLife makes sure the story does not simply end at disposal. When that happens, NextLife makes sure the story does not simply end at disposal.
It ends with responsible processing.
